Steps to walk you through how to import a product to launch from Amazon, Walmart, Target and other platforms

Updated over a week ago

In this article, we will outline the steps to import a product into your Brand Expand account. You must add products to your account before being able to submit a launch or track them in our proprietary keyword tracking feature.

1. Click "Products" in the left navigation panel.

2. Click the red "Add Product" button.

3. Select the channel for your product.

Choose the appropriate channel from the provided list. If the desired channel is not listed, select "Other" and manually enter all the necessary information. If your product is on several channels, repeat these steps for each desired channel.

4. Enter the corresponding product ID.

Enter the product ID that corresponds with the chosen channel. For example, if you are importing an Amazon product you will enter the ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number). Click the "Import" button.

πŸ’‘ TIP: Follow this guide to import the correct Product ID from your marketplace:
Amazon = ASIN

Walmart = Item ID

Etsy = Listing ID

Target = Serial Number

eBay = Item ID

Other = Associated ID (enter manually)

IDs can typically be found embedded in the product listing url.

5. Importing a child or parent ASIN.

If you are adding a child or parent ASIN from Amazon you will receive the below prompt where you will be required to pick 1 child ASIN. We require each child ASIN to be added separately into your account, and parent ASINs are not permitted. For more information on how to setup your launch campaign(s) for Amazon product variations click here.

6. Verify and populate the remaining fields.

Verify that all imported information, such as Price, Brand, and Category are correct. Fill in the Sold By details. Users are encouraged to diligently review this step as the information provided will determine the buyer instructions.

7. Customize the repeat buyer frequency.

The default repeat buyer frequency when importing a product is 14 days, but it can be changed to best suit your needs. More details on our repeat buyer frequency feature can be found here.

πŸ’‘ TIP: A higher repeat buyer frequency might not get you the sales velocity you are looking for if your product is unique and/or your launch size is aggressive.

8. Ensure the main image matches the listing.

If the main product image is not the same as what's on your product listing you need to click on the "Drop files here or click to upload" box or copy/paste the image URL.

9. Click the red "Add Product" button in the bottom right corner to finish importing your product.

Note: We require all product information to match your marketplace product listing. Any discrepancy can cause a delay in launch approval. It is recommended to review your product before submitting a new campaign incase anything has changed since initial import.

Once you have your product imported it's time to create a launch campaign! Learn more about our launch types here.
